Censor.NET correspondent visited the presentation which took place in Siaivo bookstore.
Even before the presentation the book aroused great interest of the audience.
"It was hard to write this book - it took about three years. Though I was writing very quickly, during vacations. I do not consider myself a writer, this is more of a hobby for me."
"Some real events were used in the book, a party or a witness to which has been or may have been one of us," said the author. "This is an attempt to build a model of our society and see how the model works in the short term," he explained.
Turchynov answered numerous questions from journalists who discussed the book's intertwining with modern Ukrainian politics.
Responding to a question from Censor.NET editor Yurii Butusov whether Yulia Tymoshenko has read the book, Oleksandr Turchynov noted that the opposition leader was one of the first to receive a copy. "She said she had read the book in one day and she really liked it, although she said she does not agree with some things," said Turchynov.
Talking about fiction interwoven with reality, and politics with fantasy, Turchynov assured: "The tremendous advantage of fiction is that the author does not set any boundaries. The author does not limit himself."
Answering a question about how the book will be accepted by his opponents, Oleksandr Turchynov said he did not believe that they would be interested in his work. "Apparently, they read very little. I do not know any readers among our opponents but there are a lot of writers there who receive hefty fees..."
Turchynov gladly held a signing session for everyone and thanked everyone who came to the presentation promising that he would make sure that Advent does not become the last book in his literary career.
