CIA began recruiting Russians through Telegram and released video with instructions. VIDEO
The channel was created on April 13, but the first publications in it appeared only today, Censor.NET reports.
"The CIA wants to know the truth about Russia, and we are looking for reliable people who know and can tell us this truth. Your information may be more valuable than you think," the publication on the channel says.
It also published instructions on how to safely contact the CIA. Russians are recommended to use Tor or VPN for this.
"Are you a military officer? Do you work in the field of intelligence, diplomacy, science, high technology or do you deal with people who are engaged in it? Do you have information about the economy or the top management of the Russian Federation? Contact us. Maybe people around you don't want to hear the truth. We want," the CIA urges.
CIA officials involved in the project told CNN that Russia's invasion of Ukraine created a historic opportunity "for the Russians to come to us and provide the information that the United States needs." According to them, the previous wave of recruitment at the beginning of the large-scale invasion was successful and "contact was established".
