Zelenskyy on Scholz’s call to Putin: It’s Pandora’s box, now there may be other conversations, other calls. VIDEO
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin was a "Pandora's box." According to the president, it is extremely important for Putin to weaken his isolation.
The head of state said this in his traditional evening address, Censor.NET reports.
Zelenskyy confirmed that he had been informed in advance of the upcoming conversation between Scholz and Putin.
"Chancellor Scholz told me he was going to call Putin. Olaf's call, in my opinion, is a Pandora's box. Now there may be other conversations, other calls. Just a lot of words," the head of state said.
According to the President, "this is exactly what Putin has long wanted: it is extremely important for him to weaken his isolation, the isolation of Russia, and to conduct ordinary negotiations that will not end in anything."
"Just like he has been doing for decades. This allowed Russia to change nothing in its policy, to do nothing in essence, and this is exactly what led to this war," the Ukrainian leader said.
Zelensky added that Ukraine understands all these challenges now and knows how to act.
"And we want to warn you: There will be no "Minsk-3" - we need real peace," the head of state added.
As a reminder, on November 15, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke on the phone with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin for the first time in two years. After this conversation, Scholz intends to talk to Zelenskyy.
