The soldiers of the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after King Danylo thwarted an assault by Russian invaders near the town of Chasiv Yar. The invaders tried to launch a mechanised attack using BMD-4 airborne assault vehicles, hoping to take advantage of the difficult weather conditions to break through.
While attempting to cross the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas Canal, the enemy encountered Ukrainian minefields, which significantly slowed their movement. After that, the Russian units were killed by drone strikes and artillery from the brigade.
As a result of the unsuccessful attack, the occupiers lost 7 BMD-4s, which are among the latest equipment of the elite airborne troops of the Russian Federation. The total cost of the destroyed equipment exceeds $11 million, Censor.NET reports.
