The Land Forces Command congratulated servicemen on the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and St Nicholas Day with a touching video. The video, posted on the Facebook page of the Land Forces Commander, was made by Ukrainian artists and features Bohdan Beniuk as St Nicholas.

This was reported by Censor.NET.

"Miracles do happen. Today we are all waiting for gifts from St Nicholas, for our own personal little miracle. But we know for sure: in Ukraine, St Nicholas wears a pixel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and "talan" boots. St Nicholas opens his frontline backpack with gifts. He puts a pinch of hope under each of our pillows. And for the occupiers, he gives them so many "rods" that they are left with only one thing - a ticket to a Kobzon concert. But the greatest miracle he creates is that we live in our free Ukraine. Which, despite everything, continues to resist the Russian invaders," the Land Forces commented on the video.

The video's director, Anastasia Volodina, admitted that she wanted to create a festive mood among the military with her work.

"It was a difficult and important shoot for me. It seemed a bit risky to make the greeting to the Armed Forces Day humorous, but I personally wanted to make sure that not only children were in a festive mood on this day," she said.

Speaking about the idea of the video, Taras Tkachenko, deputy commander of the Information and Communication Support Centre of the Land Forces, said that St Nicholas is the patron saint of defenders.

"In general, St Nicholas is the patron saint of all those who are far from home and need protection. That's why we came up with the idea of a fabulous greeting to our defenders on their professional holiday. We wanted to give our soldiers a sense of warmth and home comfort, which they missed so much. That's where the idea for this video came from, which would bring a smile and a sense of celebration," said Taras Tkachenko.
