On the morning of 18 January 2025, Russian troops launched a ballistic missile attack on the center of Kyiv.
This was announced in the telegram channel of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Censor.NET reports.
"There is debris falling. We know about four dead and three injured. My condolences to the families and friends. Residential buildings, a metro station, shops, cafes, and civilian infrastructure were damaged. All services continue to eliminate the consequences of the shelling," the Head of State noted.
He also recalls that Zaporizhzhia was hit. Ten people are known to have been injured, others may be under the rubble. The infrastructure was destroyed, many people's homes and shops were damaged. The rescue operation is still ongoing.
"Everyone who helps the Russian state in this war should be under such pressure that it is no less noticeable than these strikes. We can do this only in unity with the whole world," Zelenskyy said.
Strike on Kyiv on 18 January 2025
Earlier, Censor.NET reported that on the morning of 18 January 2025, explosions were heard in Kyiv, and the mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko, reported that air defense was in operation. Later it became known that 4 people were killed in the attack, a non-residential building was on fire in the Shevchenkivskyi district, and there was smoke in the entrance of the building. It was also reported that the entrance to the Lukyanivska metro station was damaged.
The State Emergency Service showed the consequences of the Russian ballistic attack on Kyiv.
A blow to Zaporizhzhia
Censor.NET also reported that the enemy attacked an infrastructure facility in Zaporizhzhia, 8 people were wounded and houses were damaged.
